About Us

We are husband and wife, Arlene and Bob Carey, known as "ArzArt". Over the years, we have explored multiple disciplines including music, fine art photography, hand-painted holiday ornaments and decorations, hand-etched glass gifts, hand sewn fabric pumpkins, mixed media, and polymer clay jewelry. In all of our disciplines, we embrace the use of vibrant color as well as geometric, free form and abstract images.

In making our jewelry, once we decide upon the design and color for each piece, we blend various colors of polymer clay, sometimes adding foils and other materials to help create the unique effects we seek. Using multiple techniques including caning, we cut, shape, mold, and texture the clay to create, from scratch, the polymer clay beads and focals to be used in each piece. Next, those beads and focals are fired in an oven specifically designed for clay. After firing, each bead is individually hand buffed and polished to a high luster for an even more brilliant finish. To complete the process, we use hand tools to drill each bead and focal, and then join them with a variety of specially selected glass and metal spacer beads in order to create our necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Although colors and hues may be similar in our work, no two pieces are ever exactly the same because of the way we blend colors, textures and materials, thus ensuring an individual one-of-a-kind handmade piece of wearable art. Using these same processes and techniques, we also make hand painted glass ornaments, hand-etched and frosted glass blocks, and fabric decorations for the holidays.

We have participated  in various Fine Art and Arts & Crafts Shows throughout the Southeast U.S., including the Cape Coral Art Festival; Las Olas Art Festival; Roser Park Art Festival; Christmas Made in the South in Macon Georgia; The Calico Arts and Crafts Show in Moultrie, Georgia; Cottontails Festival in Birmingham, Al; SouthWoodstock Music and Art Festival in Tallahassee, Florida; Springtime Tallahassee, Shop the Rocky Top Fall Craft Show, Dollywood Harvest Festival (the only place where we currently exhibit), and many others.  Our work has also been exhibited in various galleries and venues including the  Bob Rauschenberg Gallery and the Arts for Act Gallery in Ft. Myers, Florida, the 1020 Gallery in Tallahassee, Florida and the Georgia Visitors' Center on Interstate 75 near Valdosta, Georgia.
